IPBA-3 and DBM-VI to be held at IFT's main Mong-ha campus
The conference will take place in the comfortable surrounding of IFT’s main campus at Colina de Mong-Ha, located in the Macau peninsula. All presentations and keynote sessions will take place at the Inspiration Building (or I-Building). Below are images of the Inspiration Building and the Educational Restaurant entrances. IFT’s Educational Restaurant (Michelin-recommended!) is where lunch for delegates will be served. See map below for location of IFT's main Mong-ha campus on the Macau peninsula.
Directions by taxi
Delegates taking a taxi to IFT can download and print these directions to show to the driver. This direction takes delegates to the I-building, located on the bottom of Mong-ha hill, where all sessions will take place. This direction takes delegates to the entrance of the Educational Restaurant building, located on the top of Mong-ha hill, where lunch will be served. Note in the map below that there are several entrances to a few buildings along the short uphill road to IFT so be sure to show the driver the appropriate direction.
Walking route from Royal Hotel to IFT
On a crisp early December morning, delegates staying at the Royal Hotel may find walking to IFT a wonderful experience and opportunity to immerse in Macau's local life and streetscape, some of which are historic landmarks. The annotated map below shows a largely flat walking route that should take no more than 20 minutes--unless delegates get distracted by the local sights and culinary diversions! The last stretch of yellow trail is an uphill 5-minute walk to the top of Mong-ha hill. We will be updating the map below with local places of interest, cafes and restaurants.
Early morning shuttle between Royal Hotel and IFT
We will be arranging early morning shuttle buses between IFT and Royal Hotel during the conference days. More details to be posted later. Delegates staying in other parts of Macau may go to IFT directly by taxi or go via the shuttle service to-from Royal Hotel.
About your conference host
The Institute for Tourism Studies, Macau (IFT) is especially dedicated to the training and professionalization of the hospitality and tourism industry in Macau, the mainstay of its economy. Established in 1995 and fully funded by the Macau S.A.R. Government, IFT delivers degree programs in hotel, tourism, events and heritage management and, more recently, in tourism retail and culinary arts. In 2000, IFT was the first tourism institute in the world to receive the UNWTO TedQual program certification.
IFT's Tourism Research Centre (ITRC) conducts publicly relevant and policy-shaping research in areas such as tourism, hospitality, events, heritage, and retail. The Centre aims to provide analysis and actionable information for decision- and policy-makers in Macau, in addition to the scholarly research it undertakes and supports.
